This is a beautiful book and it’s a must read for everyone who has been hurt of for those who are working with someone who has past or present life scars. The people featured here have been damaged in serious ways. Some of them have carried much mental, emotional, and spiritual pain for many years. Your Scars are Beautiful To God isn’t a a sad book. The pages fairly sing with stories of love and redemption, of joy and grace, and help for those who need to know they are not alone.
Sharon Jaynes doesn’t hesitate to bring all of our secret hurts out into the light of day and she is incredibly honest about her own scars. She uses stories from the Bible and stories about people living now to illustrate a very vital truth; no matter what we’ve done, no matter how badly we’ve been hurt, God loves us. And like a loving father He’ll hold us, comfort us, and forgive us.
If you’ve been hurt, (and who among us hasn’t been?) if you’re carrying a burden of guilt or shame, if you think no one cares, then this book is for you. Whether you buy it for yourself, or as a gift, it’s well worth the price.
