Title: The Yada Yada Prayer Group Gets Rolling Author: Neta Jackson Publisher: Thomas Nelson, Inc ISBN: 1-5914-5362-3 Genre: Inspirational/Chicklit
Jodi is being forced out of her comfort zone. When her son, Josh, becomes heavily involved with Edesa, another member of The Yada Yada Prayer Group, they need volunteers to serve at the safe haven for battered women and children. Josh wants his mother to volunteer, feeling that if she does, then the other Yada Yada members would likewise. Jodi doesn’t want to serve there, but she grudgedly agrees to one night a month.
Avis’ daughter and her young son are living at the shelter, but Rochelle has had some devastating news. She’s HIV positive, thanks to her husband’s multiple affairs. Avis is devastated, but she vows to spend as much time with her daughter as she can now.
Ruth is still learning to cope with newborn twins, and her husband is playing favorites with the male twin. Other members of the Yada Yada Prayer Group are also going through struggles. What will it take for them to reach out to one another in love—yet get their own lives under control?
This sixth book of the Yada Yada series, requires that you read the prior books to know what is happening. I really have to admire this author for getting so much mileage out of the same characters. The book starts out with a Christmas theme, making it ideal for this time of the year.
I love this series, and look forward to reading the next book in the series—which is on my shelf to review. Jodi is a realistic heroine, as well as her friends, facing true challenges and life changes. I highly recommend this book as well as this series. You won’t be disappointed. Discussion questions are included at the end of the book. $13.99. 403 pages.
