Title: The Yada Yada Prayer Group Gets Caught Author: Neta Jackson Publisher: Integrity Publishers August 2006 ISBN: 1-59148-361-5 Genre: Inspirational/Women/Fiction
Just a few weeks ago, the Yada Yada’s had to pray hard when Nonie’s husband is the victim of a vicious racial attack. Now, it seems as if everyone’s life is in turmoil.
Ruth has just learned she’s pregnant (at fifty) and her husband, Ben, is pushing for an abortion. Florida wants to move away from gang territory before her teenage son is recruited, but it looks like it might be too late. Chandra has won a free vacation to Hawaii. Avis’s daughter is abused and has run home to mama, but Avis’s new husband doesn’t want her there. Jodi is concerned when the school district proposes budget cuts and school closings. Will she lose her job?
The Yada Yada Prayer Group Gets Caught is the fifth book in the Yada Yada Prayer Group series. I haven’t read all the books in the series, but I’ve read the last three and now feel I have a good handle of what’s going on. New readers will want to start with book one as all the books tie together.
I love this series, and enjoy reconnecting with the characters with every new book that comes out. The Yada Yada Prayer Group Gets Caught does start to drag a bit in the middle as it seems all the problems (or at least the major ones) are resolved, but if the reader forces themselves past the sagging middle they will find more to hold their interest. Don’t miss this newest book in the Yada Yada series. Discussion questions are included at the end, making The Yada Yada Prayer Group Gets Caught ideal for small groups. $13.99. 405 pages. |
