Title: Who’s Who and Where’s Where In the Bible Author: Stephen M Miller Publisher: Barbour ISBN: 1-59310-111-2 Genre: Biblical Studies/Reference/General
What Grandmother murdered her family so she could rule the Jewish nation? Wouldn’t you like to know?
In this easy to use manual of Bible facts, figures and fabulous finds, you’ll be able to visit Bible lands via maps with great keys, discover Bible characters you never heard of and learn about old favorites, but best of all – it’s a fun read!
The author has done an exceptional job of creating a resource that is entertaining yet factual, deep yet easy to comprehend, fun but serious, and he wraps it all in a hand sized manual complete with color illustrations and photographs.
If you desire to know more about His book, then you need to read this book. It’s like the guidebook to the ultimate guidebook for life – the Holy Bible.
The book starts with a timeline correlating Bible events with world events. Then things are arranged alphabetically and include people, places, and things. Page 126 for instance tells the history of Camel raiders. I didn’t know I actually wanted to know about Camel Raiders but their story is fascinating!
Other notes of interest include – Babies in a basket – Moses? Sure! But there were others. King in a cage ?! Purgatory – where’d that come from? What does God have to say about himself? Signs in the sky. We know Cain killed his brother Abel, but did God really ‘mark’ Cain and all his descendents? Want to see a picture of Petra? The city built into the rocks? What Iraqi town was like New York City?
I’m no Bible scholar, but this book will be close at hand while I study the Word. I think a copy is needed for my daughter’s family – they home school and this book is kid user friendly and adult user friendly. My son’s family will get one in addition to their home studies- our daughter in law is a public school teacher and this book will give her background information for some of today’s current events. And, a copy is going to the church library.
If you’re a seeker, a new believer or someone who has walked with the Lord a long time – you will use this resource. (And read the dedication page, the author has a good sense of humor) | |
