Title: Where Willows Grow Author: Kim Vogel Sawyer Publisher: Bethany House ISBN: 10-0-7642-0183-2 Genre: Inspirational/Historical/Fiction
Anna Mae knew something was wrong when Harley brought home a crate full of foodstuff, plus a new hat for her. Particularly when she knew he didn’t have the money to pay for it all. She lost her temper when he told her he’d sold the mules and was going to help build a castle in Kansas, of all places. The man had lost his mind.
Harley loved his wife, but that didn’t give her the right to question his decisions. While After all, he was the head of his household, and he had to do something. Crops wouldn’t grow in a drought, and if he didn’t earn some money they would lose the farm. This government job was a blessing, but he couldn’t make Anna Mae understand.
Where Willows Grow is a story of love and anger of faith and doubt. Most of all, it’s the story of a man and woman determined to stay together in spite of overwhelming obstacles. Kim Vogel Sawyer’s characters are so real they will step off the page into the reader’s heart.
