Title: When The Morning Comes Author: Cindy Woodsmall Publisher: WaterBrook Press ISBN: 978-1-4000-7293-4 Genre: Inspirational/Women/Fiction
Hannah Lapp has left Owl’s Perch, Pennsylvania, with her life in tatters. Her relationship with Paul Waddell has ended, her baby is dead, and her family has virtually shunned her. Now, Hannah has nothing but a piece of an old envelope containing the address of a shunned aunt, a woman Hannah had no idea existed.
Hannah needs help finding her aunt Zabeth, but once she has, Zabeth takes her in without hesitation. Slowly, Hannah begins to rebuild her world—a world that no longer included Paul, her family, or her friends.
Convinced that her former life is destroyed, Hannah vows never to return home, but to make her life among the Englischers that surround her. But when her heart calls, will she answer?
When The Morning Comes is the second book in the Sister’s of the Quilt series. I was looking forward to seeing how things worked out with Hannah, but it was so long since I read the first book in the series When the Heart Cries that I’d forgotten certain parts of the story. The third book in the series When the Soul Mends will come out in the fall of 2008. Readers will want to read these books in order as they all tie together.
Hannah is a realistic heroine, and I liked being a part of her modern world, yet still being kept abreast of all that was happening in the Amish community she left. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series. Make sure to pick up your own copy of When The Morning Comes. If you like Beverly Lewis or Wanda Brunstettler, you won’t want to miss Cindy Woodsmall. $12.99. 320 pages.
