Title: Wedding Bell Blues Author: Linda Windsor Publisher: Avon Inspire ISBN: 978-0-06-117137-6 Genre: Inspirational/Romance
Alex Butler is stunned when her ex-husband, Josh Turner, comes back to town. He walked out on her sixteen years earlier, and he’s returned to be the best man in Alex’s sister's wedding. Even though Alex hates Josh, he seems to have changed his ways, and is more endearing than ever.
Josh Turner left Alex because she didn’t support his dream, and he had to give it a shot. But a bad accident left his career in shambles, and a drug and alcohol problem spiraled his life out of control. But Josh found Christ and now he wants to help others with destructive habits.
Josh and Alex keep running into each other in the small ocean-side town of Piper Cove. Soon Alex finds she has to forgive Alex if she wants to get along peaceably with him. But are the old wounds too deep for a second chance?
The Piper Cove Chronicles' first book in the series is Wedding Bell Blues. The series follows four women, all best friends and is set on the eastern shore of Maryland. The faith message in this first book is strong.
Wedding Bell Blues isn’t exactly Linda Windor’s usual happy-go-lucky style, but there are still plenty of phrases and events to make you smile. I liked Josh instantaneously. Alex isn’t my style of heroine, so it did take some time to warm up to her. I liked one of her friends much better. All the characters, even the secondary ones, are very well developed.
Wedding Bell Blues is a very cute story, and I did enjoy reading it. Alex and Josh both had serious issues to work through, and the story kept my interest. $12.95. 304 pages.
