Title: WebJam Author: Robert Elmer Publisher: Waterbrook Press ISBN: 1-57856-749-1 Genre: Inspirational/Juvenile/Fiction
Ashley Webster and her brother, Austin, are sucked into the musical side of the World Wide Web thanks to Austin’s digital camera and his laptop computer. But the timing is lousy, Ashley is supposed to sing in the state’s “Greatest Young Vocalist” finals.
Aunt Jessica is willing to offer advice, and Tucker Campbell tries to help Austin and Ashley—but she isn’t much help at all. Unfortunately, Ashley and Austin keep bouncing from one music-linked Web site to the next, stumbling deeper into the Web. Will they find their way back to reality before the competition is history? Or will they be stuck in the Web forever?
WebJam is real exciting and the chapters end so you have to read the next chapter to find out what happens next. The characters were realistically developed and I wanted to see them make it out of the Web. Some of the trips in time Austin and Ashley went on were fascinating to read about.
I think WebJam is a book for the keeper shelf. Even though it is book three in the Hyperlinkz series, it easily stands alone. Pick it up today for your favorite 8 – 14 year old. |
