Title: Weaving a Future Author: Susan Page Davis Publisher: Heartsong Presents ISBN: 1-59789-058-8 Genre: Inspirational/Historical/Romance
Harry Cooper came to the Shenandoah Valley to buy horses. Then he met lovely Sadie McEwan. He takes care of his business and goes home, but he can’t forget the fiery, unpredictable woman who captured his attention. When he returns several months later, something is wrong at the McEwan plantation. Sadie is no longer the vibrant, fun-loving woman he remembers. She is wan, and looks and acts worn down. She tells Harry that her father is too ill to talk business, but she can handle the sale of the brood mares he wants to buy.
Sadie is attracted to Harry, and she is happy to see him, but she has a secret, one she doesn’t dare tell. Sadie is caught up in a problem that’s not of her doing, but she has waited too long to do what’s right. She’s lost so much, she can’t bear to lose Harry, but what will he do when he finds out the truth?
Susan Page Davis writes a good historical romance. I always enjoy her books. Her characters are realistic and well developed and her plots interesting and believable. Her Oregon Escort and The Prisoner’s Wife were entertaining stories set in the past. Weaving a Future makes a fine addition to the list
