Title: Undercover Angel Author: Cynthia Rutledge Publisher: Steeple Hill ISBN: 0-373-87129-5 Genre: Inspirational/Contemporary Romance
The last thing Angel Morelli expected was to fall for her handsome history teacher. As an undercover cop on assignment at a local high school, Angel=s job is to sniff out information on a local drug ring. Posing as a high school senior is both fun and challenging for the twenty-something police officer. Her history teacher, Jake Weston, is at the top of her suspect list. But in her effort to get close to him and glean information, she unwittingly falls head over heels in love. Now, keeping her identify from him could ruin her hopes of a future relationship.
Jake Weston views Angel Morelli as an at-risk student. While she cops an attitude and wears funky clothes, Jake senses there is more to her than merely a rebellious teen. When the spunky girl starts pursuing him, Jake resists because of propriety--a teacher never dates a student. Still reeling from the senseless death of his brother, Jake takes comfort in Angel=s encouraging counsel and before he knows it, Angel has stolen his heart. While wrestling with the impropriety of the situation, Jake discovers that Angel is not who she says. Is it possible the women he loves is a drug dealer posing as a student? Jake needs to find out before his heart lands him in deep trouble, both professionally and emotionally.
I absolutely loved this book. I couldn=t put it down and finished it in one day. Cynthia Rutledge has done a superb job of creating true-life characters and gut-wrenching conflicts. They face difficult situations and wrestle with their faith as many of us do. The chemistry between Jake and Angel is delightful. I highly recommend Undercover Angel as a must read book. | |
