Publisher: Multnomah Publishers
ISBN: 1-59052-082-3
Genre: Inspirational/Contemporary/Romantic/Suspense

FBI agent Luke Falcon has been on the trail of his nemesis, Frank Hardin, for longer than he'd care to admit. Nothing can sway Luke from pursuing the man who leaves a trail of bodies in his wake. Nothing except for the disappearance of his cousin Mark and his family.

Caroline Lane has dated Luke off and on for the past year, and is ready to call it quits. Though she cares for Luke, she's tired of his job interfering with their dates and planned get-togethers. Luke is married to his job, and has no place in his life for her. But when her sister's family disappears, Luke is the only person she trusts to get them back.

As the body count multiplies and the time clock is ticking toward the ransom deadline, Luke wonders if he has the courage and fortitude to handle his job any longer. When the kidnapping takes an unforeseen twist, he fears what this means for Caroline. Can their tenuous relationship survive the crisis? Will Luke find his family before it's too late?

True Courage  is the fourth installment in Dee Henderson's thrilling Uncommon Heroes series. As with the other books in the series, readers won't be disappointed. Though True Courage  starts a bit slower than previous Henderson books, but it quickly builds into a suspenseful ride filled with surprising twists, dead ends, and beloved characters in imminent danger. Vivid details of FBI and law enforcement procedures create realistic tension and make for interesting scenes. True Courage  is a stand-alone book. You can read it even if you haven't read the previous three in the series.

I had the privilege of reviewing both the print version and book on CD. The CD version adds an interesting dimension with sound effects such as ringing phones, car noises, and music at scene changes and during tense scenes. The narrator does an excellent job with the various men's voices, but I would have enjoyed the CD better if a woman had done the female voices. It was great traveling around town on my errands and listening to the CDs. Course, I wasted a lot of gas, sitting in my car, as I listened until a scene break came each time I arrived at my destination.

Whether you read the book or listen to the CD version, True Courage  will take you on a riveting ride and leave you eagerly anticipating Dee Henderson's next book.
