Title: A Treasury of Adoption Miracles

Author: Karen Kingsbury

ISBN: 0-446-53337-8

Genre: Inspirational/Nonfiction/Adoption

Adoption is a miracle in itself, the bringing together people who were strangers and now are part of the same family. But A Treasury of Adoption Miracles  tells stories that go beyond the ordinary. They are truly extraordinary.

A series of several true stories, A Treasury of Adoption Miracles tells the story of:

A young woman who was forced to give her daughter up for adoption and regretted it. Years later, she marries and has other children, but continues to pray that she’ll meet her first born daughter.

A Manhattan social worker who receives a new case—a three-year-old orphaned in a terrible accident. In trying to find a home for her, the social worker learns secrets about her own life.

A young couple who lose twins in a heartbreaking miscarriage, yet learn to trust God again.

Plus many other true, miraculous stories. Karen Kingsbury includes her own adoption story in the final chapter of this book.

I cried when I opened this book and read the first story. Karen does her usual stellar job of writing with her emotions, bringing the reader completely into the story. I was afraid I would cry through the entire book, but thankfully, for me, the first story was the most emotional. I read the book through in one sitting and couldn’t put it down.

I highly recommend A Treasury of Adoption Miracles  for anyone who is adopted, have adopted, is considering adopting, and those who like to read true stories of God’s miraculous ways, even if they haven’t adopted or don’t have plans to. A Treasury of Adoption Miracles is a book that will bless your heart. $12.99 hardcover. 156 pages.
