Title: Timing Is Everything

Author: Tracey V. Bateman

ISBN: 1-58660-996-3

Genre: Inspirational/Contemporary/Romance

Accountant Esther Young has a comfortable routine. She may be forty and a hopeless old maid, but she’s happy. Her financial career is everything she dreamed of and more. She has been approved to be a foster parent, and her life is anything but dull. If only her sister, Karen, would stop trying to fix her up on blind dates.

Tom Pearson owns his own lumberyard and is content. His oldest daughter works for him and is expecting her first baby—his grandson. He has another daughter in college and an almost grown son. The only thing is: he’s lonely. And he felt a connection with Esther as soon as he walked into her office.

The relationship moves along quickly with few hitches until Tom and Esther start discussing kids. Their differing opinions threaten to tear the two of them apart. Can they ever resolve this issue?

I enjoyed the humor that was all the way through Timing Is Everything. Esther has focused on her career to the exclusion of everything else until it is almost too late. She has a lot of sarcastic thoughts and I liked her instantly. Tom is at a different place in his life than Esther and sometimes I found him less than understanding of her thoughts, but overall he is a likeable hero.

Timing Is Everything is Tracey V. Bateman’s first contemporary novel and it’s good. Fans of contemporary romance will want to read Timing Is Everything. I look for this author to go far.
