Title: A Time To Embrace Author: Lynn A. Coleman Genre: Inspirational/Historical/Romance After the death of her best friend, Beatrice Smith puts her life on hold to raise her friend's infant son. Now the boy's father is dead also, and Bea must do the most difficult thing she has ever had to do: deliver young Richard to his uncle in Florida. Bea prays that Ellis Southard will be a kind and loving man, but the stranger who meets her and Richard at the dock is cold and hard. Bea's emotions are racing faster than the clipper ship that brought her from New York. How can she release the little boy she loves so much to a confirmed bachelor who cares only for his sponge business? Ellis Southard is shocked to the core with the lovely nanny escorting his nephew. Even more, he's disturbed by the depth of the attraction he feels toward the beautiful woman despite that fact that he thinks she coddles his nephew. After fleeing his hometown years ago, Ellis has worked hard to make a good, quiet life for himself. Now he has the added responsibility of caring for Richard. When Bea nearly dies of heat exhaustion, Ellis is determined to send the fragile northerner home on the first available ship. But when Bea goes, Ellis knows that she'll be taking a part of his heart with her. A Time To Embrace is a charming tale interspersed with just the right doses of tension, humor and romance. The hero and heroine in this story had special appeal to me. Both were hurting with their own problems and afraid to open up and trust the other. When they did, the sparks between them, and their playful bantering, was delightful. A Time To Embrace is the first of four enchanting books set in historical Key West, Florida. The other books in this series are now available. Lynn Coleman is a wonderfully talented author. I encourage you to check out her writing for yourself. | |
