For years, Jacie Noland has been wrapped up in her art. Her best friends, Solona, Tyler and Becca tell her about an art conference. The only thing to hold her back is her lack of money. She doesn’t see this as a serious problem until the first day of school, when she finds out there is no room for her in the art class. Suddenly, she is stuck. Her long time desire to become an artist is being thwarted.

Jacie, Becca, Solona, and Tyler have been friends since fourth grade. Now, a new girl in school, Hannah Conner takes up with them. Jacie likes Hanna, but hates it when Hannah so easily shares her faith while Jacie can’t find anything to say.

A new guy begins the first day of school. Damien doesn’t seem to be the kind of boy Jacie’s mom would like her to date. Jacie isn’t sure about their relationship either, but he’s handsome and makes her feel differently than any boy has in the past.

Uncertain as to what God wants, Jacie struggles with expressing her faith, with her desire to become an artist, and what to do about her relationship with Damien.

Lissa Halls Johnson, previously a member of the "Adventures in Odyssey" creative team, is a fiction writer for Focus on the Family. She is the author of 14 novels.

The cover of Stuck in the Sky portrays a smiling Jacie with her palette and brush in her hands. Behind her, sitting James Dean fashion on a motorcycle, is a leather-jacketed Damien.

This book by Focus on the Family was written for readers of Brio magazine. Throughout the book, comments about being Brio sisters, or about the Brio girl’s conference appear.
