Title: The Song Weaver Author: BJ Hoff Publisher: Harvest House ISBN: 13-978-0-7369-1459-8 Genre: Inspirational/Historical/Fiction
Maggie MacAuley has married Jonathan Stuart, her former teacher, and life is good. Maggie and Jonathan are on a honeymoon trip to Lexington to meet his family. Although Maggie is nervous, afraid they won’t think she is good enough for them, she immediately feels right at home.
Maggie is devastated when her sister, Eva Grace dies in childbirth while they are gone. Eva Grace was the victim of an abusing husband. Richard Barlow, respected businessman, active in church, and a wife beater in his own home, has vowed to take the baby from Eva Grace once it is born. Now, as the only remaining parent, he has a legal right to little Gracie. Will Maggie be forced to turn her infant niece over to the hated brother-in-law who brutally beat the baby’s mother?
The Song Weaver is the last book in the Mountain Song Legacy Story, and I hate to see it end. I feel as if I’m saying goodbye to old friends. I’ll miss Maggie and Jonathan, and I find myself wishing I could be there to see baby Gracie grow up. A warm hearted story line filled with compelling characters and complex situations that will hold the reader from page one. BJ Hoff’s lyrical writing makes The Song Weaver a satisfying ending to a special series.
