Lisa Kroeker loved Amy DuPree ever since the moment they met as young children. Instant best friends, Lisa didn’t hesitate to promise Amy anything. She would be Amy’s bridesmaid, present for her first child’s birth, and someday, they would go to Paris together, wear high-heels and walk down the Champs-Elysees together, looking tres chic.

But years have a way of separating old friends. Lisa went to Paris without Amy and fell in love. That relationship didn’t last, and Lisa moves to Cincinnati to work. There, she runs into Amy again. Amy is in town for a wedding, but ends up going into labor. Lisa is able to keep her promise to Amy to be there for the birth of her first child.

Now the friends are reunited, but their trip to Paris is postponed until after Amy’s grandmother dies and the children are grown. Now these two ladies are ready to travel and do it up right. Will Amy find Paris everything she dreamed of? Will Lisa be able to get past the hurt of the past and find a new reason for loving?

Sisterchicks Say Ooh La La! is c’est magnifique. I loved every minute of this book. Ms. Gunn has a gift of bringing the setting of Paris alive so I could almost feel as if I were in Paris with Lisa and Amy.

The characterization is excellent and the faith message is expertly woven in. The only complaint I have about Sisterchicks Say Ooh La La! is that the book ended. Discussion questions are included at the end, making this book ideal for small group discussions. $12.99. 282 pages.
