Title: Single, Saved, and Having Sex Author: Ty Adams Publisher: Warner Books ISBN: 0-446-57822-3 Genre: Christian Living/Sexuality Sex outside of marriage is sin. Ty Adams calls it like “it is written.” Having experienced the steamy side of life and turned back to God, Adams knows of what she writes. She explores the realm of man/woman relationships, especially in the black culture, in a frank no-nonsense approach. But she doesn’t leave the reader in condemnation. Instead, she offers the Life-line to Godly actions. Recognizing the pull of a sexual lifestyle the world offers, Adams reveals the lies for what they are. Pornography, music, and movies all contribute to sinful behavior. She exhorts believers to confront their demons and overcome, to completely repent and turn away. As she states: “God does not send anyone to hell; your choices do.” Once that choice for heaven is made, Adams walks with the believer through the process of reclaiming their bodies and minds and healing their hearts. At no point is the sinful situation made light. Instead, the Light is shone upon the heart, the secrets revealed and swept away. Powerfully written, explicit, this book contains God’s truth. Ty Adams faces the mainstream and exhorts: “You can stay in bondage…or you can seek God’s face and receive what He has for you: freedom from sexual sin.” Let’s hope many reach for her words to find The Word. |
