Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live in a world where evil didn’t exist, where no one lied, people didn’t argue, there was no need for an army or police force, or for weapons? That’s the way it was in Farholme, a Made World, copied from Ancient Earth. At least it was like that until Merral Stefan D’Avanos saw what he thought was a meteor streaking against the night sky and the peaceful world of Farholme began to change.
At first the changes were subtle; a hint of something gone wrong, a small deception, a show of fear, a vision. Then Vero, a Sentinel from Ancient Earth arrived to check out the situation. Suddenly Merral and Vero were caught up in an unthinkable battle against the powers of evil.
I’m always amazed at the way some writers can create a completely new universe and made it seem so real. I find myself believing it might actually exist somewhere. Merral and Vero don’t understand what is going on, but they believe in God and they are willing to follow whatever course He sets before them.
Chris Walley’s The Shadow and the Night is an absorbing tale of the battle between good and evil, presented with a unique twist. It’s packed full of action and suspense that will pull the reader into the story from page one. By the time I read the last word I was ready to plunge into The Power of the Night.
