Title: Sarah’s Long Ride Author: Susan Page Davis Publisher: Journey Forth ISBM: 978-1-5-9166-737-7 Genre: Inspirational/Juvenile/Fiction
Fourteen-year old Sarah Piper’s mother was killed in a car wreck and she has gone to live with her Uncle Joe on his ranch in Elk Creek. She misses her mother so much, but Uncle Joe has let her bring her horse, Icicle and Clover, her mother’s horse with her. Uncle Joe doesn’t talk much, and Sarah worries that he doesn’t really want her. Sarah and her mother used to go on competitive endurance trail rides. Will Uncle Joe want to sponsor her?
Susan Page Davis is a very good writer. Whether she’s writing romance, fantasy, historical, or young adult, she always delivers a good story. Sarah’s Long Ride is an engaging tale with characters so real and down to earth I wished they lived in my neighborhood. Buy this one for the young teen on your list of readers. I promise it won’t disappoint.
