Romance blooms at two bed and breakfast inns during the holidays.

“Orange Blossom Christmas” – by Kristy Dykes. When Landon Michael’s wife passed away, he let the bed and breakfast she owned and operated go. Then one Christmas season he has a call from a pastor in Georgia wanting to rent a room for his church secretary over Christmas holidays as a vacation. Against his better judgement, Landon agrees. Louis Delaney is expecting the Orange Blossom Bed and Breakfast to be heaven on earth . . . and it would be, if it weren’t so dirty and run-down. But her zany sense of humor finds the good in it, and she soon steps in to help clean it up, and win Landon’s heart at the same time.

“Mustangs and Mistletoe”by Pamela M. Griffin. Taylor Summerall is still reeling from her fiancés death two years prior. She wants nothing to do with romance now, until her brother invites his friend, Derrick Freeborn to their bed and breakfast. Derrick’s company is in danger of going under, due to embezzlement and Derrick is looking for a fresh start. He is intrigued by the stand-offish operator of the bed and breakfast and tries to find ways to be near her. Will his approach win him love?

Room At the Inn is a shorter, two novella Christmas collection by two loved Barbour authors. Readers will not be disappointed with either of these stories. The characters are realistically developed, the faith message expertly woven in, and they will help you discover the Christmas spirit (even if you read the book as I did in the middle of July!)

My personal favorite of the two stories is “Orange Blossom Christmas” because it was a fun story. However, “Mustangs and Mistletoe” is well-written, and the ending made me cry, it was so sweet. Pick up a copy of Room At the Inn today. You won’t be disappointed. Yummy sounding recipes are included at the end of each novella.  $10.95. 219 pages.
