Title: Restless Hearts Author: Marta Perry Publisher Steeple Hill ISBN: 13-978-0-373-87427-8 Genre: Inspirational/Romance
Fiona Flanagan didn’t know either her mother’s relatives, or her father’s family. A quarrel between brothers alienated her father from his family, while her mother’s Amish family disowned her when she left her faith to marry an outsider. Now Fiona is on a search for her roots. She has opened a midwife clinic in Crossroads and has met the Flanagan’s, who welcomed her. Making peace with the Stolzfus family is harder.
Ted Rittenhouse found Fiona prowling around the house she planned to buy. It was night, and he suspected she was up to no good. When he checked out her identification, he learns she is Hannah Stolzfus’ daughter. Word soon got around and Fiona learned she wasn’t welcome in Crossroads.
All too often people erect barriers where God never intended. Restless Hearts is a compassionate story about love and forgiveness, of hidden hurts, and the courage to do what’s right in the face of rejection. Marta Perry does a great job developing her characters, so that we can understand their pain, feel their joy and rejoice at the way God can unravel the tangled mess we make of our lives. Restless Hearts is another good story about the Flanagan family.
