Title: Relentless Author: Robin Parrish Publisher: Bethany House Publishers ISBN: 0-7642-0221-9 Genre: Inspirational/Suspense
In Relentless, Robin Parrish’s debut novel and book one in The Dominion Trilogy, Collin Boyd begins his day as usual except for one thing—he watches himself going to work from inside a stranger’s body. Thus begins a sequence of very odd and mind-boggling events that is Relentless. Collin discovers that the body he’s wearing belongs to Grant Borrows and that someone is trying to kill him. Things go from bad to worse when the killer drags Collin’s (or is it Grant’s?) sister into the mix.
While trying to escape those who would kill him, Grant (we’ll use this name now because the character does) discovers that he has undergone the Shift and that many others who also wear the strange ring are along for the same ride, and no one understands what has happened. Their only clue lies with an ancient stone and a secret society, conspiring to bring about an ancient prophecy . . .and Grant is the central figure.
Parrish takes you through so many twists and turns that you’ll be pulling your hair out, wondering what is going on. Yes, it is a page-turner, but at times I became frustrated because too much information was kept from me in an effort to keep me hooked. Still, I recommend Relentless—a thriller with nothing less than fantastical and science fiction elements. In his debut novel, Parrish has given us anything but the predictable. |
