Title: Preparing Him For the Other Woman

Author: Sheri Rose Shepherd

Publisher: Multnomah Publishers

ISBN: 1590526570

Genre: Inspirational/Nonfiction

It’s the moment every woman dreads. The time when she turns her son, her little boy, over to another woman. One he promises to love and honor, for better, for worse, until death doth them part. And while Ms. Shepherd doesn’t promise to make that day any easier, she does promise to help you turn your son into the husband he should be.

With scripture references and guides to how you should treat (and teach) your son through the crucial younger years (ages 3 – 8), the important middle years (ages 9 – 13) and the all important teen years (ages 14 – 18), Ms. Shepherd hones in on the importance that first of all your son has to learn to respect you. Because if he disrespects you as a parent, he is never going to show respect to his wife. There are a number of other issues discussed in this book too, such as:

. Understanding the heart of a woman

. How to express love

. Resolving conflict

. Power of purity

. Providing for his family

. Having a real relationship with God

. Becoming a Godly leader

. Plus much more

I cried when I opened the package in the mail and the title that stared out at me was Preparing Him For the Other Woman. I knew the book was coming, but with boys in the midst of the teen years, this day is approaching far too soon for me. My almost fourteen year old son opened up the book and started thumbing through it and read portions out loud, congratulating me on doing this part right and that part right, so I guess some of what Ms. Shepherd teaches comes naturally. When I read the book though, I could see other areas in my life that truly needed work.

Preparing Him For the Other Woman is a must read for any woman who has sons, no matter what age they are. This is a book that belongs in the pastor’s library, the church library and in your own personal library if you have, or hope to have, children. I will be reading this book over again, and even making my sons read it, even though they are not female, because there are things in there that they really should know. Preparing Him For the Other Woman is an invaluable resource for the Christian woman’s home. This book is not to be missed. $14.99. 192 pages.
