And now it has come between her and her long-time beau. She can’t join the church as long as she sins by painting, and they can’t marry unless she joins the church. Now, her best “English” friend, Louisa Stratford, is coming to visit. Louisa has just left her fiancé virtually at the altar, and wants time to think. But Louisa is a certified art instructor and a professional artist herself. Will she nudge Annie toward her dream and completely away from the church? I have waited for what seems forever for The Preacher’s Daughter, and I was not disappointed. Beverly Lewis is one of my all-time favorite authors, so I live for a new book of hers. I loved Annie and Louisa, as well as the other point-of-view characters, and couldn’t wait to see how the story plays out. I read The Preacher’s Daughter in one sitting; I couldn’t put it down. I loved every second of this book. The only thing I hated is that it ended and now I have to wait again. The Preacher’s Daughter is book one in the new Annie’s People series. The Englisher is coming in the summer of 2006. If you are a Beverly Lewis fan, you will not be disappointed in The Preacher’s Daughter. If you aren’t familiar with Beverly Lewis’ writing, this is a good book to start with. $13.99. 350 pages. |
