Title: Plain and Fancy Author: Wanda E. Brunstetter Publisher: Barbour ISBN: 1-59789-300-5 Genre: Inspirational/Romance
Laura Meade is attending school for interior design in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, when she goes to an Amish market and meets Eli Yoder. Darla Shelby, who lives in the same dorm as Laura, warns her not to get too interested in Eli, that plain and fancy wont’ mix. But when Laura meets Eli’s crystalline blue eyes, common sense is suddenly in short supply. After all there aren’t any problems too big for love to solve, right?
His parents aren’t happy with the friendship, her mother is upset, and Laura and Eli themselves, have reservations. Can love truly conquer all, or is the gulf between her world and his too deep to cross?
Wanda Brunstetter knows and respects the Amish belief and culture. Plain and Fancy is a compassionate and appealing story about a man and a woman caught between two cultures. Eli and Laura face a heart-wrenching decision and the result will change them forever. Another good story by Wanda Brunstetter.
