Caroline Spencer owns and directs her own daycare business, and approaches life with the same carefree style as a small child. Caroline jumps at the chance to leave her business in the capable hands of her employees and head to Mexico with her teenage daughter, Annie, and her school classmates.

Workaholic Blaine Madison is reluctantly forced into attending the same trip to Mexico with Annie’s best friend, his daughter, Karen. But he’s uncertain if he’s going to even make it. His flight into town is delayed and he catches the flight to Mexico only because the flight is held up for him. He isn’t sure he can leave his business for a whole week; he’s convinced it will collapse around his ears when he returns.

In spite of Blaine’s misgivings, he is captivated by the bouncy red head sitting next to him on the flight, even when she gets a very loud case of hiccups and then showers him with a glass of water when she attempts to drink it. He tries to stay in his room and work long distance, but soon his curiosity about this fun-loving woman affectionately called Miz C wins out and he starts accompanying Caroline and the girls to the various activities.

When Karen manages to disobey the rules, trouble quickly escalates. Will Blaine be able to save his daughter’s life – and maybe find love in the process?

Paper Moon is hilarious – it has many laugh-out- loud moments in it.  I fell in love with one of the secondary characters, John, and two of the old women who make an appearance toward the end of the book. I read portions of Paper Moon  to my husband because he wanted to know what I was laughing at. Caroline is a believable, fun-loving character who I’d love to call a friend, she would keep life interesting.
