Written by Lissa Halls Johnson, the creator of the Brio Girls series, Opportunity Knocks Twice features a boy, Tyler Jennings.

Tyler, a junior in high school, has been friends with Jacie, Solana and Becca since fourth grade. Not long ago, a newcomer joined their group. Tyler finds he is attracted to the tall, blonde, beautiful and innocent Hannah Connor. One problem exists, however. Hannah doesn’t date. Her family prefers courtship and Hannah agrees.

When Ty’s ex-girlfriend, Jessica, returns to Colorado, he find himself in a dilemma. He likes Jessica, too, and she’s available to date, hold hands, even kiss. Tyler explores questions about why certain girls attract him. He tries to figure out how to honor God in a relationship and he wonders which girl he should choose. Tyler has other choices to make too. He wants to protect his sister from “evil” junior high boys, and needs to learn to get along with his dad.

The cover of Opportunity Knocks Twice shows a smiling Tyler, thinking about beautiful Jessica and innocent Hannah.

Lissa Halls Johnson, a writer and editor on the staff of Focus on the Family, created the Brio Girls series. She has written 15 novels for children and teens. Johnson doesn’t pull any punches in Opportunity Knocks Twice.

Girls reading this will learn how guys talk about girls, how they relate and about the struggles guys face. Johnson connected all the loose ends, but she also set the reader up for a sequel. Readers will want to know more about Ty’s relationship with his dad. They will have questions about courtship and how Hannah deals with it. And, there’s the question of Jacie. What’s that all about?
