Title: One Man's Honor

Genre: Inspirational/Historical/Romance

For the first time in his life, Richard Southard is distractingly attracted to a woman, the lovely Isabella Fernandez. But her family is deeply steeped in Spanish tradition, making it impossible for them to get to know each other. Even for Richard to talk to Isabella alone could bring dishonor to Isabella and her family. Though Richard is a man of honor, and he respects her culture and traditions, he doesn't always agree with them.

Richard's business is in dire straights after a devastating fire. Because of his big heart, he makes a decision to finance his fellow businessmen's rebuilding. Now he faces losing his only ship because he put it up as collateral for the rebuilding supplies, and his friends are unable to repay him. The last thing he needs to be thinking about right now is a woman.

For years, Isabella Fernandez has admired Richard Southard from afar. When she's out for a late-night stroll on the beach and hears him crying out to God for guidance about his business quandaries, she can't help quoting him an encouraging scripture as she passes by. The brief encounter only entices her appetite to speak with the handsome man again.

Isabella's heart leaps for joy when she soon discovers Richard returns her attraction. But stolen moments are all Richard and Isabella seem to have until Richard offers Isabella a job. Things go well until Isabella are Richard are caught in an innocent moment alone together. Now Isabella is afraid that her father will demand a marriage--a marriage that Richard neither wants nor is prepared for.

One Man's Honor is a great book! I loved conflict created by the dilemma Richard and Isabella faced with their blossoming attraction to each other, in the light of the restrictions put on them by her family's conservative traditions.

Richard's struggle with his business and his attraction to Isabella challenge his integrity, but his determination to remain honorable is an encouragement to read in this day and age.

Lynn Coleman's depth of characterization and ability to place the readers inside the thoughts of her characters makes One Man's Honor a fascinating read. One Man's Honor is the fourth book in Lynn Coleman's historic Key West series. I give it, along with the whole series, a solid "thumbs up."
