When Buck Mason chooses a pro football career over his family, Janice Mason takes their son Billy and flees to Colorado, hoping to make a new start. For ten years, Janice has been struggling to make ends meet while her ex-husband has become a highly sought after, star quarterback and national sports icon. But suddenly her past catches up with her when Buck shows up at the restaurant where Janice works. Now Janice must not only confront Buck, but also face the lie she's told Billy all these years about his father.

Buck Mason has changed. When he became a Christian, he put his wayward lifestyle behind him. Buck feels remorse over how he treated Janice, and he seeks her out to ask forgiveness. But his hopes for reconciliation are crushed in the face of Janice's anger and bitterness. His heart aches over his mistake. And the marriage that weighted him down in his youth is the very thing that he now desires more than anything. But, is it too late?

Once There Was A Way Back Home is a heart-wrenching tale of betrayal and restoration. In this day of instant divorces, it warms the heart to read a story of forgiveness and reconciliation. Louise Gouge does an awesome job in creating conflict between Buck and Janice. Her in-depth characterization and emotionally charged storyline has this reader wanting more. Once There Was A Way Back Home is a fabulous read. I highly recommend it.

Catch the fascinating sequel in The Homecoming.
