Love me, love my dog. That is what Norah Kent, owner of Norah’s Ark Pet store believes. She’s been dating Joe Collier, the owner of the coffee shop across the street forever, but now Joe wants to get serious, and Norah wants . . . well, bells. And then there’s Nick Haley, the new police officer in town. He’d be absolutely perfect for Norah, except for one tiny little detail . . . he hates dogs. And Norah owns a pet store. I loved all of Judy Baer’s chick lits that I’ve had the privilege of reading thus far, and Norah’s Ark is no different. Ms. Baer has a gift to make characters and settings come to life. I loved Norah, she’s a realistic heroine, and wasn’t as caught up in herself as most heroine’s of chick lits seem to be. Norah has a heart for animals and for people and goes out of her way to help those in need, whether they are teenage boys headed for trouble or elderly neighbors who needs around the clock care. Ms. Baer has expertly woven in a faith message which will minister to the reader without being preachy. Norah’s Ark is a book that fans of chick lit will want to read over and over. $13.95. 336 pages. |
