Tom Stevens, Jimmy Wilson, and Matt Woodridge are best friends who do everything together. Tom is the ambitious one of the three, dreaming up all kinds of money-making opportunities for them to do. They had lemonade stands—in January—and made money. They sold magazine subscriptions. They even managed to sell old copies of newspapers!

So no one was very surprised when Tom decides to start a newspaper route. Not a starter route either. Tom takes over three established routes! Talking his friends into joining him, they get up at 4:30 in the morning to fold the papers and deliver them.

One morning while delivering the papers, they notice a tow-truck backed up in a driveway while someone is working on a car. When the man sees the kids, he does an odd thing! He jumps into the tow-truck and speeds away! Tom thinks that is odd, so he starts reading the paper and finds there is a car thief ring operating in the city. Convinced what they saw is someone trying to steal a car, the three boys start investigating.  Is someone really trying to steal cars? If so, who? And will the boys be able to catch the criminals?

Newspaper Caper is the first book in the Tweener Press Adventure Series. It is a very engaging story that will grab your attention from page one and keep it all the way through. When the book arrived in the mail, my eleven-year-old son took it before I had a chance to look at it and he couldn’t put it down. When I went looking for him, I found him curled up in a chair reading. Michael wants to read all the books in this exciting series.

Newspaper Caper started out with a bang and more exciting things kept happening to keep the reader’s interest. Your son will not be able to put this book down. Newspaper Caper is a great book to pick up for children between the ages of 8 and 12. There is a biblical message included in the story too.
