All Christians are stewards of God’s possessions and need to wisely manage what God has given them. This includes the all-important and often controversial area of finances. Author Stephen Hammond has written a book to provide specific, time-tested instruction on opening up avenues through which God can bestow His financial blessings.
This book does not advocate a name-it-and-claim-it philosophy. This reviewer was especially pleased to see Scripture quoted frequently and in its proper context. Mr. Hammond sincerely desires to educate the Christian community in sound investment practices. And his reason is perfectly Biblical: “…the healthier and wealthier we are, the more work we can do for others and for His kingdom.”
Mr. Hammond has almost two decades of successful experience in finance and securities. He leads the reader through a series of steps from planning a simple budget to purchasing stock and building a portfolio. The book includes worksheets, charts and graphs to encourage the reader to actively participate. Financial terms and trends are clearly defined.
While Mr. Hammond’s ability to pass on investment information is excellent, this reviewer was deeply impressed that his motivation for writing this book was to “teach, encourage and inspire others toward faithful stewardship in all God has given them.”
This book will not make you rich so you can be happy. This book will make you wise so you can properly manage the riches you have already been given. | |
