Title:
Melody's Knight
Author: Bonnie Blythe
Publisher: Treble Heart Ebooks
ISBN: 1-928-60274-6
An engagement ring is the last thing Melody Laurent expects to land at
her feet when she takes an evening stroll in a park to contemplate her
unmarried status.
Unfortunately, the ring is not for her but a cast-off from an
engagement proposal gone sour. When she tries to return the ring to the
jilted owner, Melody is snubbed by the handsome firefighter who lives in
her building.
After his girlfriend's humiliating proposal rejection, Firefighter
Avery Knight swears off women. He is shocked and embarrassed when his
neighbor returns his ring, and he determines not to have anything to do
with the pretty woman. But in a desperate moment of need, Avery asks
Melody to baby-sit his precocious puppy, Barney. It's a toss-up as to who
gets into more trouble, Melody or Barney. When Melody gets into one scrape
after another, Avery repeatedly comes to her rescue. Though he is
determined not to be swayed by Melody's charming English accent and
delicious homemade treats, Avery is weakening.
Melody soon realizes Avery is everything she wants in a man. But when
Cindy, Avery's ex-girlfriend, steps back into his life, Melody panics. She
neglects to pray about her relationship with Avery, and instead,
formulates a plan to win him over for good. Will Melody's plan work, or
will it be another of her hair-brained ideas that backfires and ends in
disaster?
This enchanting romance is the first book by author Bonnie Blythe. She
has an obvious talent for formulating well-rounded, captivating characters
that pull you right into the heart of the story. Melody's Knight is
pleasantly laced with just the right amount of humor. A hero and heroine
with special appeal and yet challenging conflict between them, a
delightful secondary character in the form of a wayward puppy, and a story
that keeps you reading to the very end, are just a few elements that makes
Melody's Knight a satisfying read. I eagerly look forward to
hearing more from this talented author. |
