Title: Making Your Home A Haven (Strategies for the Domestically Challenged) Author: Cyndy Salzmann Publisher: Christian Publications ISBN: 0-88965-206-6 Genre: Christian Living/Homemaking Helps
When I opened this book I was sure Cyndy couldn’t teach me anything, I wasn’t even sure I wanted to learn. Martha Stewart, I’m not. And I don’t care. But the more I read, the more she made sense.
Organization, that’s the key word, and it works. I’m still not a Martha, I’m not even a Cyndy, however, I have made inroads on the chaos. Dresser drawers and cabinets are cleaner and less crowded. I’m working my way through closets, and have my eye on my office. Her tips about storage and controlling clutter are worth the price of the book.
Drowning in a sea of paper? There’s a tip for that. I particularly enjoyed the chapter titled “The Occasional Cook” and the recipes at the back of the book. I only have one question. How did Cyndy know about my secret stash of used aluminum foil?
Cyndy Salzman’s Making Your Home a Haven will help you do just that, and the “Going Deeper” section at the back of each chapter will help you clear the clutter out of your heart too. |
