Title: Loving Tenderness Author: Gail Gaymer Martin Publisher: Love Inspired ISBN: 0-373-87333-6 Genre: Inspirational/Romance
Andrew Somerville is surprised when, driving home in the rain one night, he sees a woman and a small child walking along the highway. Hoping to be a good Samaritan, Andrew pulls over to help. The woman is running from an abusive husband, so Andrew takes her and her child to the local women’s shelter. But there is something about her that compels him to want to take care of her himself.
Hannah Currey had to get her son JJ away from her abusive ex-husband before he took his drunken rage out on JJ in addition to her. Battered and bruised, she doesn’t know where to go so Andrew was a God-send. But Hannah is afraid to stay in the women’s shelter, in case her ex-husband looks for her there. . .
Andrew helps Hannah find a home and a job, but soon their friendship turns into a relationship. Will anything develop from it? Or is it doomed from the start, due to Hannah’s previous marriage and the complications it caused?
Loving Tenderness is the seventh and final book in the Loving Series, but it easily stands alone. I think it was possibly one of my favorite books in this series. I was able to connect with Andrew and Hannah and care about their problems. I loved the small town along the shores of Lake Michigan setting too. The inspirational storyline was woven in carefully and wasn’t preachy at all.
I thoroughly enjoyed Loving Tenderness and highly recommend it to readers. It is well written and enjoyable. The small paperback size makes it ideal to carry along with you when you go out. $4.99. 150 pages. |
