Title: Love's Haven Author: Catherine Palmer Publisher: Steeple Hill ISBN: 0-373-78538-0 Genre: Inspirational/Contemporary/Romance Mara Rosemond is pregnant, widowed, and on the verge of becoming homeless. Left with a huge debt after her husband’s untimely accident, she has no choice but to let the bank reclaim her truck. When the landlord gives Mara an eviction notice, she has nowhere to go. Brock Barnett was with Todd when he died, and now Mara blames him for Todd’s death. Even though Brock doesn’t love Mara and she virtually hates him, Brock feels he has no choice but to offer to marry her and provide a home for her and Todd’s baby. The unborn baby, Abigail, doesn’t want to wait for her mama to make up her mind about whether or not to marry Brock, she’s in a hurry to arrive! The day Mara has to be out of her house, she finds herself in labor, but decides to call Brock and tell him he has to marry her that day or she won’t marry him at all. Even though Brock had a full day planned, he meets Mara at the courthouse. But before he can kiss his bride, Brock realizes Mara is in labor and he races her to the hospital. He is present for the birth of Todd’s daughter. Mara seems to hate him worse in spite of everything Brock does to make things pleasant and comfortable for her. Will Mara ever learn to love Brock? Or will she take Abigail and leave? LOVE’S HAVEN is a cute romance with an adorable hero. I fell completely in love with Brock even though he was sometimes rather stiff acting. Mara behaved as her name means, bitter. But one can’t really blame her as she had a lot of bad things happen to her in a short time. Readers will enjoy LOVE’S HAVEN and will cheer the characters on, hoping they find love in this marriage of convenience. Pick up a copy today. $12.95. 248 pages.
