Title: Love, Annie Author: Dandi Daley Mackall Publisher: Zonderkidz ISBN: 0-310-71094-4 Genre: Inspirational/Juvenile/Fiction
Annie Lind has recently started helping her new friend, Gracie, with the blog. Annie’s part is “Professor Love.” After all, Annie considers herself a master of the matters of the heart.
Annie is consumed with getting her dream guy to ask her to the homecoming, and it’s just a matter of time before Sean is eating out of her hands. After all, Annie knows all the right moves. And soon, Sean is pulling her away from her friends and they are spending time together.
But something isn’t right with the relationships. Why does Annie have to leave her friends, but Sean always drags his along? Will she discover what real love is?
Love, Annie is the second book in the FaithGirlz Blog On series, but it easily stands alone. I enjoyed getting to know Annie a little more in this book, and will have no reservations giving this to my tweener daughter to read. Annie, in spite of the fact that she’s a cheerleader, and part of the in-crowd, becomes real to the readers and they are able to identify with her.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Love, Annie and am looking forward to reading the remaining two books in the series. Parents of girls ages 8 – 12 will not be disappointed by this series. It’s a great alternative to the non-Christian books out there for tweeners, but still deals with real issues, minus the sex, and with faith issues clearly addressed. $5.99. 109 pages. |
