Rebekah Stoltzfus, who was a young girl in The Merry Heart, is now a grown woman. Rebekah was permanently injured when she was struck by a falling limb in a storm. Confined to a wheelchair, she feels life has passed her by. What man would want a handicapped wife. Of course, Daniel Beechy is always underfoot, but Rebekah is suer he is interested in her cousin, Mary Ellen.
Tired of being a burden, Rebekah longs for a way to be financially independent. Using her love for plants and with the encouragement of her family, she starts a home business. Mary Ellen gets married to Johnny, but Daniel is still coming around. Is he interested in Rebekah or does he want to take over her business?
