Will he ultimately find what he’s searching for with God? In The Longing Season, Ms. Schaub tells the true story of how the well-known and often sung hymn, “Amazing Grace,” came to be. The second book in the Music of the Heart series, The Longing Season easily stands alone. I was fascinated to learn the interesting history of this hymn. As a homeschool parent, I loved the history woven into this series and how God’s love changed the life of the man who penned this hymn. As a pastor’s wife, and a woman who is in church every time the doors are open, I will never again sing it without thanking God for bringing this song into being. Christians, worship leaders, pastors, and homeschool parents will want to read The Longing Season. It is also a wonderful book for the church library. $12.99. 168 pages.
