Title: Landon Snow and the Island of Arcanum Author: R. K. Mortenson Publisher: Barbour Books ISBN: 1597893587 Genre: Inspirational/Juvenile/Fantasy
Landon Snow was doing so well in his football game until all of a sudden the players turned into a field of animals. Donkeys. Horses. Bears. Zebras. A literal zoo. Landon froze and found himself trampled. Soon his coach pulls him from the game. Landon is not so much embarrassed as he is confused. Why is he imagining animals?
The next day, Landon and his family headed out to visit Landon’s grandparents—and the highlight of the trip, the Button Up Library. The very next day is Landon’s birthday, and he’s hoping that he will be able to relive the visits into the mystical world.
Landon is a bit put out and angry and to cool off, he wants to go on a walk. His parents insist he take his two little sisters with him. When they walk to the library, Landon is stunned to find its unlocked, even though it doesn’t open for another hour. When a sudden, inexplicable flashflood threatens to drown them out, Landon is stunned to see—Noah?
LANDON SNOW AND THE ISLAND OF ARCANUM is book three in the Landon Snow series, but it easily stands alone. Fans of Landon Snow will be thrilled to know there is a new book in the series with the same non-stop action as the first two. Landon is a believable eleven-year-old boy, and gets into some of the craziest adventures. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it for your favorite children ages 8 – 13. They won’t be disappointed. $9.97 hardcover. 216 pages.
