Four generations of love are rooted in Scotland

"Finding Audrey" by Tracey V. Bateman

Raised in the foster care system, Audrey MacMurray is searching for her roots and a family heritage to connect with. She becomes friends with Brett Canfield, the instructor of her genealogy class, but she wants nothing to do with Brett's God. As Brett helps her research her ancestors, Audrey discovers they were people with a strong faith in their Heavenly Father. Can she lay aside her anger at God and embrace Him? If not, will her relationship with Brett reach a dead end?

"English Tea and Bagpiptes" by Pamela Griffin

1822-Highlander Fiona Galbraith is shocked when Dr. Alex Spencer shows up at her home in Kennerith Castle, hoping to stop his brother and Fiona's sister from marrying. Appalled that Gwynneth would even consider marriage to an English nobleman, Fiona sets out on a journey across Scotland to find her sister, who she's discovered has run off with Alex's brother. Much to her dismay, Alex joins her in the search. Can Fiona put aside her long-held distaste for the English long enough to find Gwynneth? And how does she handle things when her own heart begins to betray her?

"Fresh Highland Heir" by Jill Stengl

1748 - When the Laird of Kinnerth Castle dies, Celeste Galbraith's father becomes the new laird. But someone isn't happy about that and has been threatening them. Her father assigns Allan MacMurray to be her bodyguard. Resenting Allan's constant presence, Celeste is determined to make his job difficult. When frightening events happen, she turns to Allan for protection, but soon, he is the one in trouble. Can Celeste aid Allan, and in the process discover the true heir of Kinnerith Castel?

"Fayre Rose" by Tamela Hancock Murray

1358 - When her father is unable to pay his taxes, Laird Kenneth takes Fayre to Kennerith Castle to tend the rose garden. Though she misses her father, Kenneth is kind to her, allowing her to be a guest rather than a servant. Before long, Laird Kenneth falls ill with the Black Death, and all his servants refuse to go near him. Fayre tends the man she's come to care deeply for, but even if Kenneth lives, is there any hope for a marriage between a serf and a laird?

Highland Legacy is a wonderful read. I loved the spunky, determined heroines and the trouble they sometimes caused the heroes. Highland Legacy consists of four novellas-three historical and one contemporary, which is separated into four parts and serves as a lead-in to the historicals.

In the historicals, readers will immediately be drawn into the Scottish setting with the dialect spoken, cultural dress, and vivid descriptions of the area and characters. In the contemporary story, readers will quickly empathize with Audrey and her search for a family to connect with and the struggle with her feelings for Brett and her anger toward God.

Plenty of exciting conflict propels each novella along, creating four stories of adventure and love. Highland Legacy is definitely one book you'll want on your keeper shelf.
