Title: Hazardous Duty Author: Christy Barritt Publisher: Kregel ISBN 0-8254-2016-4 Genre: Inspirational/Suspense
Gabby St. Clair runs an unusual business. She’s a crime scene cleaner. Ever wonder who cleans up the mess when the police are through with the bloody crime scene? Call on Gabby St. Clair. She can restore the scene, if not to it’s former pristine appearance, at least to something a normal person can look at without throwing up.
Then a routine cleaning job at the home of a powerful politician turns up the murder weapon used to kill his wife. Someone tried to burn the house down with Gabby inside, and routine work becomes extremely dangerous. Her employee is in jail on an arson charge, and someone wants to exterminate Gabby—permanently.
Christy Barritt has created a spunky, spirited, stubborn character who is almost impossible to sidetrack from her goal of finding a cold blooded killer. Of course there is a man involved. Two of them, in fact. Riley Thomas, new neighbor, who is good-looking, intelligent, and always underfoot. And there’s detective Chip Parker, who bears a strong resemblance to Brat Pitt.
Hazardous Duty is a delightful blend of humor and suspense, with a twisted plot that will keep the reader guessing.
