Title: god.online Author: James C. Wetherbe PhD Publisher: Mead Publishing ISBN: 1-883096-03-0 Genre: Inspirational/Nonfiction
Have you ever wondered:
What is the meaning of life? Is there really a God? Is there life after death? How can I obtain peace and contentment?
If so, then GOD.ONLINE is the book for you. In a matter of hours, you’ll be able to explore answers to life’s questions, and hopefully learn something along the way.
Dr. Wetherbe has a unique approach to seeking and connecting to God through faith and logic. He introduces methods which will allow readers to investigate the existence of God by relying on what they can actually experience.
I think sometimes, belief in God simply has to be taken on faith and not on life experiences. Teaching readers to believe based on experiences, as Dr. Wetherbe suggests, is a dangerous practice, and could cause new believers or those floundering in their faith to stumble.
However, Dr. Wetherbe does have some valid ideas. If the reader has a trusted pastor or spiritual mentor to go through the book with him and help with any questions and doubts that might arise, GOD.ONLINE would be a good book to pick up. It is rather clinical and not easily read, but if you took it a section at a time and took the time to think, pray and discuss what you read, the book could be helpful.
