Ensign Rachel Whitney is and ambitious, temperamental young woman, determined to forge a dazzling navy career. Then she is posted to a remote island in the Pacific. Only three people are assigned here and they are guarding a highly classified secret. Rachel quickly makes friends with Pierre Belanger, but George Hudson, the commanding officer, doesn’t want her there and goes out of his way to ignore her.

George Hudson has been on Frazier Island longer than anyone else. He knows every inch of it and knows just exactly the importance of the secret they are guarding. He’s upset that the navy would send a woman to this post. She’s highly trained and efficient, but still one woman and two men alone from six months to a year is just asking for trouble. Not here and not now, of course. Pierre is engaged to be married as soon as his tour of duty is finished, and George wants no part of Rachel, now or ever, even if her eyes are like star sapphires.

Then someone sells information about Frazier Island, and suddenly the secret they are guarding isn’t that much of a secret any more, and the island becomes a very dangerous place. Can Rachel and George overcome their resistance to each other and open their hearts to God’s leading? An exciting story of two people involved in a situation where they might be required to give their lives serving their country. High adventure and romance with a strong message of faith. I’ve read Susan Page Davis’ romances, historical romances, and fantasy, and in my opinion Frazier Island is her best yet. I couldn’t put it down.
