Title: A Few Flowers Author: Gail Sattler Genre: Inspirational/Romance Working on an assembly line in a hot and humid warehouse had to rank as Cindy Martin’s worst job ever, but the bills had to be paid. The day Cindy is yanked off the assembly line to fill in as secretary to the desperate senior vice president was a shock not only to her but the rest of the office staff, as well. Instead of failing miserably as most expected, Cindy rises to the challenge of working for the cranky, old man, and even earns his respect. On the way home from a monthly practice for a first aid competition, Cindy witnesses a devastating accident. She rushes to aid a severely injured man in a smashed, yellow Porsche. Thanks to her first aid skills and quick thinking, his life is saved. "Do I look familiar?" The handsome man, leaning over her desk asked. "Think back five months." Cindy’s mind raced. Suddenly, she realized this was the man whose life she had saved. Now, here he was in glorious, living person. Montgomery Smythe couldn’t believe his good fortune. After months of searching, he finally found her, the mysterious woman who’d saved his life and fled the accident scene without even leaving her name. He begged her to go out to dinner with him, but she obstinately refused. "If you feel you must thank me, just send me a few flowers," she said. So he did, everyday…three flowers. One red, one yellow and one white. Worn down by his persistence, Cindy finally agrees to go out with Monty. She is overwhelmed by his devotion and growing attraction. While she is drawn to him too, Cindy feels that Monty’s attraction to her is simply a natural reaction from the accident...hero worship. When a terrible misunderstanding drives Monty away, Cindy only then realizes her love for him. But is it too late? A Few Flowers is an enjoyable and exciting book that will keep you guessing to the final page. "The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever" Isaiah 40:8
