Title: A Family Forever Author: Brenda Coulter Publisher: Steeple Hill ISBN: 0373-87358-1 Genre: Inspirational/Romance
Shelby Franklin knew it was wrong to be intimate with David, her fiancé, but as he pointed out, they would soon be married anyway. Then David is killed in a motorcycle accident and Shelby learns she is pregnant. Scared, and knowing she can’t keep the baby, Shelby doesn’t know where to turn.
Tucker Sharpe, David’s brother, offers to marry her and help raise the baby. At first Shelby rejects his proposal, but finally coming to terams that she has no choice, she accepts. Tucker believes that as they work together to raise David’s child, they will grow to love each other. Shelby knows that isn’t going to happen.
A Christian life doesn’t always run smoothly and sometimes we yield to temptation. In A Family Forever, Brenda Coulter shows two people who make mistakes, rebel against life, even sin, as they struggle to do what’s right and failing as often as they succeed. Believable characters and a strong faith message, with plenty of emotion and conflict.
