Willow Traynor had it all. Her husband, Travis was a well-loved police officer, she was a respected ICU nurse, and they were expecting their first child. Then Travis was killed on-duty, and she was hit by a speeding car, killing her unborn baby instantly. Everyone said it was an accident, but Willow believed that it was intentional so she quit her job and fled.

Now, Willow is hiding near Branson in Hideaway, Missouri, at a resort that her brother manages. She wakes up in the wee hours of the morning and discovers that the resort is on fire. She wakes her brother and the other residents, but her home has been destroyed. When the fire is determined to be arson and a local woman who strongly resembles Willow is run off the road, Willow is convinced someone is out to get her.

Dr. Graham Vaughn and his sister, Ginger, are the only people Willow knows to trust. She has no idea who is after her, or why, or even if it is all a figment of her over-active imagination as everyone claims. But the attacks on her life are becoming more and more frequent and bold. Will she discover who is behind them before she is killed?

Fair Warning is set in and around the Branson area that Hannah Alexander has made popular in her well-loved books. I’ve read all the books Hannah Alexander has published to date, and I have to say that Fair Warning is not one of my favorites. It doesn't live up to Hannah Alexander’s previous standard of work. Not only that, but some of the sections in the book were down-right spooky.

Willow seemed like the typical ‘everyone is out to get me’ personality, which made it hard to relate to her. I did like Graham’s sister, Ginger, as she seemed the most three-dimensional person in the book. Otherwise, there is plenty of action in the book to keep the pages turning and the ending is satisfactory. There is a preview of another Hannah Alexander book included at the back of Fair Warning to whet your appetite for more. $12.95. 281 pages.
