Title: The Door Within Author: Wayne Thomas Batson Publisher: Tommy Nelson ISBN: 1-4003-0659-0 Genre: Inspirational/Fantasy
Aiden Thomas, thirteen years old, is upset because his family had to move, leaving his best friend, Robby, behind. Aidan had been lonely, known to the kids at school as an overweight weirdo, until Robby came along. Robby was everything Aidan wanted to be, but now he’s back in Maryland and Aidan is back to being the oddball again.
Then Aiden begins having strange dreams about a dark knight who forces the teenager to choose between his king and the knight. Only Grampin, Aiden’s grandfather, believes the dreams are real. Aiden finds three ancient scrolls which tell the story of another world, known as The Realm. Can King Eliam, the monarch of Allebe be calling Aidan from his natural world to The Realm? Grampin believes so and he encourages Aidan to read the scrolls.
The adventure Aiden finds in The Realm is a spellbinding tale of castles and knights, of great battles and of a dark prince ever at war with the great King Eliam. Wayne Tomas Batson has the ability to transport the reader to a magical world where good battles evil, dragons fly, and swords must be earned.
The Door Within is book one of The Door Within Trilogy and while these books are written for young adults, they are a delight for anyone who enjoys a good story. If you liked The Lord of the Rings, or if you enjoyed reading The Chronicles of Narnia, you’ll love Wayne Thomas Batson’s The Door Within Trilogy.
