Title: A Crown In The Stars Author: Kacy Barnett-Gramckow Publisher: Moody Press ISBN: 0-8024-1369-2 Genre: Inspirational/Biblical/Fiction
Since Nimr-Rada died, the people of the Great City have continued to build the tower that reaches to the Heaven. Sharah is the great queen and her son is the son of the heavens and everyone worships them. Keren has enjoyed her escape years earlier and has married her beloved and raised a family. Now her oldest daughter, Shoshannah is betrothed, but she wants to go visit her cousins for a year before marrying.
Keren warns Shoshannah to stay away from the Great City, but the guardian of the traveling group decides that it would be easier to go through the Great City. As Keren’s daughter, Shoshannah is in grave danger there. Shoshannah hopes that if she hides under her cloak she will not be recognized but that isn’t the case. Shoshannah is captured and taken to Sharah. Will Shoshannah be able to escape and get back to her family and her beloved? Or is she doomed to die in the Great City?
A Crown In The Stars is the last book in The Genesis Trilogy. Readers will want to read the first two books in the series first as they all tie together. This last book takes us through the Tower of Babel and the confusion that it caused when God confounded the speech. The story is well written, and I enjoyed reconnecting with some of the previous characters from the other books. It’s hard to wrap my mind around some of the events in the book, like Shem might have met Abram, but that could be possible.
I enjoyed this series and it raised some biblical questions that I’ve never considered. I hope to read more by this talented author in the future. $12.99. 420 pages.
